What is Form I-765 utilized for?

Certain foreign nationals, who are eligible to work in the United States, use Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, to request authorization to work. When hiring staff members, U.S. companies need to request proof of the worker's right to work.

U.S. residents and legal permanent residents (green card holders) might work without requesting special authorization. Some nonimmigrants, momentary in nature, might be approved employment permission upon demand from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
