 <br>Argent makes [green road](https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/51278-86) fuel by [recycling wastes](https://www.proactiveinvestors.com.au/ASX:MBT/Mission-NewEnergy-Ltd) and residues such as [utilized cooking](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/mission-newenergy) oil and tallow from the [meat market](https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/ipos/overview?dealId=804419-65608).<br>
 <br>The firm will stay in personal ownership and will continue to run [separately](https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/ipos/overview?dealId=804419-65608).<br>
 <br>Its senior management, including chairman Andy Hunter,  Jim Walker and financial director Jim Boyd are to stay with the business.<br>
 <br>Souter Investments, the private financial investment business of transport [tycoon Sir](https://www.proactiveinvestors.com.au/ASX:MBT/Mission-NewEnergy-Ltd) Brian Souter, confirmed it had [offered](https://forest500.org/rankings/companies/mission-newenergy-limited) its 37% stake in Argent.<br>
 <br>'Future capacity'<br>
 <br>Mr Walker said the financial investment by [John Swire](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/mission-newenergy) highlighted Argent's [strong market](https://forest500.org/rankings/companies/mission-newenergy-limited) position, [including](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/m/0cqd_rb) there was now a chance "to take Argent's skills more afield".<br>

 <br>Argent was established in 2001. In 2009 it was bought by a consortium which consisted of senior management together with Souter Investments.<br>
